Question: How do I install the LAN driver for K7VT2?(11/26/2002)

Answer:
Please install the LAN driver manually under Windows 98/ME/2000/XP with the following steps:

1. Put the K7VT2 support CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double click on the "My Computer" icon, then right click on the CD-ROM drive and browse the support CD.
3. Locate the "winsetup.exe" on \Drivers\LAN folder and double click on "winsetup.exe" to run LAN installation program.
4. After 20 seconds, "The installation is completed!" will appear then you have finished the LAN installation.
5. Please restart your computer.

Question: How could I use Wake on LAN function?(7/9/2003)

Answer:
All of ASRock motherboards support Wake on LAN. Please enable the "PCI Device Power On" in the Power menu of BIOS. After saving the changes and exit the BIOS, please boot into the Windows OS then shut down the system.
Now, the system is ready to be woken up through LAN by other computers.

Question: I'm using an add-on LAN card on my ASRock motherboard. The LAN card provides a "Wake On LAN" connector with a cable. Is there a connector on the motherboard so that I can plug this cable?(12/12/2003)

Answer:
There's no need to connect this cable to the motherboard and you are still able to use the "Wake On LAN" feature with the add-on LAN card. To use it, please remember to enable the "PCI Device Power On" option in BIOS.

Question: My on-board LAN is not working, I found that the MAC address of my on-board LAN is 00-00-00-00-00-00 or FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF. What's wrong?(4/15/2004)

Answer:
The MAC address of the on-board LAN is erased. After updating the BIOS or clearing the CMOS, please boot up the system and enter the BIOS setup. After loading the BIOS default, please exit and save changes. Failing to do so may cause the MAC address disappeared. Question: My motherboard is P4Dual-915GL. In the manual, it said the AGI Express slot is PCI Express x4. Can I use other PCI Express x1/x2/x4 devices, like PCI Express LAN card or RAID card, on AGI Express slot?(2/18/2005)

We have tested x1 PCI Express LAN card on P4Dual-915GL. It is able to work on ASRock AGI Express slot.

Question: I have AM2NF6G-VSTA/ALiveNF6G-DVI motherboard. The onboard LAN does not work properly under Windows^® Vista™. How can I solve this?(12/19/2006)

Answer:
If you encounter this problem, there are two solutions you can choose, pls. select either one at your convenience.
Solution1
Please flash BIOS to P1.70 or later for AM2NF6G-VSTA and P1.60 or later for ALiveNF6G-DVI.

Solution2.
Or please refer following steps to re-write MAC address under Windows^® Vista™.
Step1: Check MAC address.
When system boot up, press "F2" to enter BIOS setting.
Boot-> "Boot settings Configuration" -> set "Boot From Onboard LAN" to "enable".
Press "F10". System will restart.
Please "F11" and select "NVIDIA Boot Agent".

Then you will see MAC address, pls. record it with no space for later usage.

Step2: Boot system into Window Vista
Right click "Computer" and click "Properties"

Step3:
Click "Device Manager"

Step4:
Click "Continue"

Step5.
Right click "Networking Controller" and click "Properties".

Step6:
Choose "Network Address" in "Advanced " folder.
Write "MAC Address" which got from step1 into Value item.
Then click "OK".

Question: How do I get my onboard LAN to work properly?(4/28/2008)

Answer:
Here are some suggestions:
1.Make sure the "Onboard LAN" option was enabled in BIOS.
2.Make sure the LAN driver was installed properly. Please check it in "Device Manager".
3.Update the BIOS of your motherboard to the latest one.
4.Try the newer LAN driver from ASRock or chipset vendor's website.

Question: My P45 motherboard has two onboard LANs. How do I set the Teaming function and combine both onboard LANs to be a team with more bandwidth in my system?(9/5/2008)

Answer:
Before setting Teaming function, please make sure if your Switch (or Router) could support Teaming (IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation) function. (For example: D-Link DGS-3100…)

Then, please refer to following steps to set "Teaming function"...
1. Install RtkTeaming driver ver.1.0.0.51 from Motherboard Support CD
(/Driver/Teaming/ RtkTeaming 1.0.0.51…)
(*When installing teaming driver, system will show below warming message. Please choose "Continue Anyway" and keep installing driver.)

2. After installing driver, please open "Teaming Utility" in Programs. (Start > Programs > Realtek > Teaming Utility >…)
3. Click "Teaming" item and then press "Create Team" button.

4. Key in Team Name and choose "Link Aggregation \ LACP (802.3ad)" for Settings.

5. Select two available onboard LAN cards and then press "OK" button (After pressing "OK" button, system will show below warming message. Please choose "Continue Anyway".)

6.After doing above settings, system will auto create a new Local Area Connection
7.Reboot system
Then, you will find the "Speed" column of new Local Area Connection will show 2.0Gbps.

Question: How could I use Wake On LAN function under Ubuntu (Kernal version 3.2.0-23) on Vision 3D series?(4/1/2013)

Answer:
Please follow below steps to use WOL function.
1. Please enable "Onboard LAN power on" in BIOS\Advanced\ACPI configuration.
2. Connect LAN cable.
3. Search terminal in Dash Home and open it.

4. Please install ethtool to enable WOL by following command. (Refer the picture)

#sudo apt-get install ethtool
#sudo ethtool –s eth0 wol g
#sudo reboot

5. Now, the system is ready to be woken up through LAN by other computers.

Question: My Z87 motherboard has two Intel onboard LANs. How do I setup the Teaming function to combine both onboard LANs?(7/1/2013)

Answer:
Please follow the steps below to enable Teaming
Step1: After installing the motherboard and LAN drivers, restart your computer and then open Device Manager.
Right click on the network adapter and select Properties under Network adapters.

Step 2: Click the Teaming tab, select the Team this adapter with other adapters checkbox, and click New Team.

Step 3: Enter the team name.

Step 4: Select two adapters to include in the team and click Next.

Step 5: Select a team type and click Next. You can read the detailed explanation of each team type below.
On the following dialog box, click Finish to complete the teaming configuration.

Adapter Fault Tolerance:
The team will use the healthiest high-speed adapter as primary adapter; the other adapter is in standby. If the active adapter fails, the secondary adapter takes over.

Adaptive Load Balancing:
Provides transmit traffic load balancing and fault tolerance. The team will analyzes the transmit load on each member adapter and balances the traffic across member adapters

* Static Link Aggregation:
A performance technology developed to increase throughput between switches or a server and switch. This is accomplished by bundling or channeling several ports together and showing them as a single link. This increases the total bandwidth.

* Switch (or Router) could support Teaming (IEEE 802.3ad LACP) function

* IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic Link Aggregation:
An IEEE standard for increasing throughput between switches or a server and switch. This is accomplished by dynamically bundling or channeling several ports together and showing them as a single link using Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). This increases the total bandwidth.

* Switch (or Router) could support Teaming (IEEE 802.3ad LACP) function:
Switch Fault Tolerance: Primary adapter will automatically fail over to a standby adapter

Note: If you want the team with double bandwidth, please select Static Link Aggregation or IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic

Step 6: You can see the new team under Network adapters.

(Note: To delete the team, right click on the team and select Properties\Settings\Remove Team.)

Question: I cannot find the Intel 82583V LAN driver for Windows 8.1 on 990FX Extreme9 or Z77 Extreme11. What should I do?(1/1/2014)

Answer:
Intel 82583V LAN controller can be supported by Windows 8.1 inbox driver, so please use the inbox driver directly.

Question: After I've upgraded the Killer LAN driver from ver: 1.1.52.1451 to ver: 1.1.54.1506 under Windows 10, the LAN port doesn't work. How do I fix this?(8/1/2015)

Answer:
If you've updated the Killer LAN driver from version 1.1.52.1451 to newer versions under Windows 10 x86/x64, it might cause the LAN driver to malfunction. Please follow the steps below to fix this problem.

Step 1: Open Device Manager and uninstall the Killer LAN driver.

Step 2: Select the checkbox and press [OK].

Step 3: Scan for hardware changes.

Step 4: Execute the new Killer LAN driver 1.1.54.1506 or newer versions and press [Remove] then restart the system.

Step 5: Install the new Killer LAN driver and then restart the system.

Question: Why does Beebox Series platform show "!” in device manager when installing Realtek Wireless LAN driver under Windows 10 RS1?(4/1/2017)

Answer:
If using Windows 10 RS1 and installing Realtek driver, it may get "!” in device manager.

Please follow below steps to meet your application

Step1: Un-check fast startup option in Control Panel

Step2: Unzip EnableWOLInFastStartup file and then right-click Run as administrator WakeOnFastStartup.bat to install it.

(B) The driver supports "Enabled PME” Option.
Go to "Advanced” and enable the "Enabled PME” option.

Question: What should I do if I use a LAN port to transfer a large file and the connection is disconnected after a few seconds?(4/26/2023)

1. Launch the "Device Manager” and find your "Network Adapter”.

2. Right click your network adapter and select "Properties”.
