Question: My motherboard is 4Core1600Twins-P35/4Core1600P35-WiFi(+). I want to overclock my FSB 800 CPU. Are there any tips to increase the overclocking capability of my system?(1/14/2008)

Answer:
First of all, please update the BIOS to P1.10 or later.

Secondly, please adjust the FSB jumper setting on the motherboard according to the following instructions (this will set the DRAM: FSB (frequency) to 1:1)

After doing the above steps, you may set the "Overclock Mode" to [Manual] in the BIOS>Advanced> CPU Configuration and then adjust the "CPU Frequency" to overclock your system.

Question: I am using Geode NX CPU on ASRock K7S41 / K7S41GX / K7VT4A Pro / K7VT6-C / K7Upgrade-600 series motherboard.
How do I set FSB jumper for my CPU?(4/21/2006)

Answer:
The FSB of Geode NX CPU (1750,1500) is 266MHz. Please remember to adjust the FSB_SEL jumper to FSB 266MHz while using a NX CPU.

Question: I am using AMD FSB 200Mhz CPU on K7VT4A PRO, I cannot set my DDR333/ DDR400 memory to DDR333/ DDR400 under BIOS setting. Why?(6/23/2005)

Answer:
For K7VT4A PRO, if you are running with FSB 200 MHz CPU, DDR SDRAM supports 266Mhz only. So you are not able to change the memory speed under BIOS setting.

Question: I have a P4i65PE motherboard. The SPEC of P4i65PE supports "Bypass Access Technology (BAT)" on ASRock website. How do I get this function to work?(6/23/2005)

Answer:
If you want to use Bypass Access Technology, the configuration of your system has to conform to the following conditions:
1.FSB 800 CPU
2.DDR 400 memory
3.BIOS version P1.10 or higher

If your configuration conforms to these conditions, please enter BIOS setup => Advanced => Chipset Configuration to enable "Bypass Access".

Question: My CPU is Duron FSB 200 MHz CPU. Why my DDR 400 SDRAM can only run at DDR 266 speed on the K7VT6 motherboard?(12/15/2004)

Answer:
According to the specification of VIA KT600, only DDR 266 SDRAM is supported if FSB 200 MHz CPU is installed. DDR 400 SDRAM is supported with FSB 266, 333, or 400 MHz CPU. Please refer to the following supporting table.

Question: I'm using K7VT4A+. From the specification on the website, this model supports FSB 333 MHz CPU. However, I found a FSB 400 MHz FSB jumper setting on the PCB of the motherboard. Can this motherboard support FSB 400 MHz CPU?(10/15/2004)

Answer:
K7VT4A+ does not support FSB 400 MHz CPU. The FSB 400 MHz jumper setting is an overclocking mode and for testing only. For system stability, it is not recommended to set the FSB jumper at FSB 400 MHz.

Question: The FSB jumper setting table of K7VT4A+ on the PCB silk screen on the board is different from the description in the installation guide. Which is correct?(8/16/2004)

Answer:
The table on the PCB silk screen of some boards is not correct. Please refer to the FSB Jumper Setting Table in the Quick Installation Guide bundled or in the user manual in ASRock Support CD.

Answer:
Yes, all ASRock motherboards, which support Athlon XP FSB 333 MHz CPU, would support AMD^® Sempron CPU by updating the BIOS. Question: My motherboard is P4i45D+ and I used FSB 800 CPU with ASUS V9520MAGIC/T/64 (or PIXELVIEW GF4-TI4200-8X-NVG28A/64M) VGA card. When I play 3D games, the appearance is lag. Why?(5/15/2004)

Answer:
It is running at over-clocking mode when using a P4 with front side bus 800 MHz CPU on P4i45D+. Thus, when playing 3D games or running 3D applications, it may not be so smooth. This is normal, and it will not affect other functions.

Question: Are there any requirements if I use AMD FSB 333/400 CPU on K7S8X(E) series boards?(11/14/2003)

Answer:
Since the speed of AMD FSB 333/400 CPU is higher, it is important to dissipate heat from processor. Please choose powerful and proper heat sink for your system.

Question: I'm using Duron 1600MHz Applebred CPU on your K7 series motherboard. How come the CPU is only recognized as a Duron 1200MHz CPU?(11/14/2003)

Answer:
The FSB of Duron Applebred CPU (1400MHz to 1800MHz) is 266MHz. It is different from the former Duron CPU (FSB 200MHz). Please remember to adjust the FSB_SEL jumper to FSB 266MHz while using a Duron Applebred CPU.

Answer:
According to the Intel's specification, if you're running FSB 400 MHz CPU on P4i45GV, DDR SDRAM only supports 200/266. If you're running FSB 533 MHz CPU, DDR SDRAM supports 266/333.

Question: I'm using Intel FSB 400 MHz CPU, why does my DDR 333 only run DDR 266 on P4i45PE?(8/15/2003)

Answer:
For P4i45PE, if you're running FSB 400 MHz CPU, DDR SDRAM only supports
200/266 MHz. If you're running FSB 533 MHz CPU, DDR SDRAM supports 266/333 MHz.
If you're running FSB 800 MHz CPU, DDR SDRAM supports 400 MHz.

Question: Can I install 4 DIMM of DDR SDRAM with P4 FSB 533 MHz CPU on P4VX4 motherboard?(7/9/2003)

Answer:
If you are using P4 FSB 533 MHz CPU on P4VX4, please install 3 or less than 3 DIMM of DDR SDRAM. When you install 4 DIMM of DDR SDRAM, they would run at DDR 200(PC1600) speed. According VIA chipset SEPC, FSB 533 MHz CPU must run with DDR 266 or higher speed memory. So if you install 4 DIMM of DDR SDRAM, please run with FSB 400 MHz CPU.

Question: I'm using P4i45PE now. How do I run FSB 800 MHz correctly?(7/9/2003)

Answer:
1.Please use Intel^® FSB 800 MHz CPU for your system.
2. Please set FSB jumper in pin 2-3 (Test)
3. Please install one DDR400(PC3200) in slot 1.
DDR SDRAM requires CL=2.5 or CL=2.

Question: How can I run a FSB800 CPU on P4i45G correctly?(5/9/2003)

Answer:
The requirement for P4i45GL to run with a FSB800 CPU is as following:
1. Adjust the FSB jumper from 1-2 pin (normal) to 2-3 pin (test). The jumper is near the CPU fan connector.
2. Memory requires DDR333 SDRAM
Please make sure that the jumper setting is correct and the memory is DDR333.

Question: Is there any suggestion of CPU and memory for K7S8X motherboard?(5/9/2003)

Answer:
With AMD FSB 200 MHz CPU like Duron, please install DDR 200, 266, or 333 SDRAM.
With AMD FSB 266 MHz CPU like Athlon XP 2000+, please install DDR 200, 266, 333, or 400 SDRAM.
With AMD FSB 333 MHz CPU like Athlon XP 2800+, please install DDR 266, 333, or 400 SDRAM.

Question: I'm using a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor with FSB 266MHz on K7S8X, but the FSB jumper can only set from 100, 133, 166MHz. How do I adjust to FSB 266MHz?(4/15/2003)

Answer:
Please understand that AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor with FSB 266MHz is actually running with 133*2=266MHz. Please adjust the FSB jumper to 100MHz for FSB 200MHz processors, 133MHz for FSB 266MHz processors and 166MHz for 333MHz processors.

Question: Does ASRock AMD series motherboard support AMD FSB 333Mhz CPU?(4/15/2003)

Answer:
ASRock K7S8X supports AMD FSB 333Mhz processor.

Question: How can I set CPU FSB (Front Side Bus) correctly?(1/30/2003)

Answer:
For Intel CPU: You do not need to do any setting. When you install CPU at the first time, all that you need to do is go to BIOS and "Load setup defaults", then the system will auto detect the correct CPU FSB.

For K7VT2 and K7VM2: There is a FSB_SEL jumper on the motherboard .
FSB 100Mhz set 2-3
